Understanding, Humility, and Accountability – The building blocks of a good life!

Understanding what makes you feel safe can dramatically improve your overall quality of life.

“There’s never been a more perfect time for women to get up and build lives they can be proud of.”

Isaiah 46:5 _ “God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn..”

What people need to understand is that sexual intimacy is a deeply spiritual act that often both parties involved do not quite understand. For women, there’s a great deal of emotional investment in giving their bodies to someone, even if it’s not the first time. Each time they engage in this act is like a stamp of enforcement they put on what they perceive as a sacrificial act, but with a good return on investment. At this stage, no woman is even thinking of the possibility of a break-up.

Also, there’s often a deep-seated longing for safety that one hopes to fill in engaging in a sexual act; hence, often we see a tapping into desperate measures like that of Jezebel, the spirit of manipulation and control. So on this basis, it’s no rocket science that betrayal from a spouse hits women on a level they themselves cannot even begin to express in words. This betrayal, therefore, is not easy to let go of, especially when there’s a child involved who’s a constant reminder. So I then looked at 3 possible factors that can contribute to facing this problem.

= Understanding, humility, and accountability.

1. Understanding that we are complex and evolving beings, that we ourselves have not yet come to comprehend the complexities of our makeup. So we need to be careful with ourselves, especially in terms of evolution and growth. We need to understand that we cannot live on emotions and feelings but on informed decisions. Decide what you want and stick to it, whether tomorrow you feel like it or not. This is the greatest expression of respect and consideration for others.

Sex is NOT love, Sex carries NO guarantees, Sex is NOT commitment!

2. Humility to accept that we are all figuring out life and learning as we go. No one knows what tomorrow holds, and perhaps that is the beauty of it all, calling for intentionality. So all we do is make wise decisions today and hope for a better tomorrow.

3. Be accountable for your own foolishness first; don’t always point fingers. You are giving away your power that way; own your life by owning your decisions. Accept and learn from your mistakes.

Psalm 139:14_ “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well..”

A safe life will make you understand there’s more to life than physical intimacy. Secure people do not rush things; they are intentional, they carefully assess things, they explore, and they live not in survival mode.

Seek personal security in life; build a life you can be proud of ALONE. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just real and you. In that way, you learn that you don’t NEED anyone – but it’s never a bad idea to have certain people around when you WANT them. Depend on GOD alone.

May God’s grace remain upon you.
